ACC 129: Individual Income Taxes
Semester Hours 3This course introduces the laws relevant to individual income taxation. Emphasis is placed on filing status, exemptions for dependents, gross income, adjustments, deductions, and tax computation. Upon completion, students should be able to fill out various tax forms related to the topics covered in the course.
ACC 149: Introduction to Accounting Spreadsheets
Semester Hours 3This course offers a practical understanding of computer spreadsheets and their application in accounting. Topics include pre-programmed problems, model-building challenges, introductory macros, graphics, and enhancements for what-if analysis of template problems. Upon completion, students should be able to utilize the Microsoft Excel 2010 application to design, format, graph, and create business spreadsheets that integrate accounting, financial, statistical, and other functions. The course will also prepare students for the Microsoft Office Excel 2010 Certification.
ACC 150: Computerized General Ledger
Semester Hours 3This course introduces microcomputer applications related to the major accounting systems. Topics include general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory, payroll, correcting, adjusting, and closing entries. Students should be able to use a computer accounting package to solve accounting problems upon completion. This course is exclusively offered in the spring semester.
