This course equips students with the skills necessary to perform gas tungsten arc welds on ferrous and non-ferrous metals in compliance with relevant welding codes. Topics include safe operating practices, equipment identification and setup, the proper selection of tungsten type, polarity, shielding gas, and filler metals. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate safe operating practices, identify equipment and setup, select the correct tungsten type, polarity, shielding gas, filler metals, and execute various welds on ferrous and non-ferrous metals using the gas tungsten arc welding process in accordance with applicable welding codes.
