Academic Advising

Faculty advisors serve as official academic advisors, providing information on the availability and content of programs, program prerequisites, graduation requirements, and the availability of courses and learning laboratories. They also provide educational guidance tailored to each student’s field of interest or specialization and are available to assist students in selecting their class schedules. Advisors provide information about the knowledge and skills required in the field, as well as employment opportunities. Faculty advisors access a program plan of study for each advisee, which is used to help students develop a schedule for the term. Additionally, Degree Works, an online degree auditing tool, allows students and their advisors to review and track academic progress toward graduation. It organizes academic coursework so students can identify completed courses and requirements, as well as those remaining for degree completion.
