This course focuses on the safety and quality management practices of the hematology and hemostasis department. It covers the theory and practical techniques of hematology. The student is presented with blood components, including normal and abnormal cell morphology, as well as hemostasis and selected manual and automated analytical methods. Upon completion, students should be able to perform various hematological and hemostatic testing procedures, including the preparation and examination of hematologic slides, and correlate laboratory results with specific hematological and hemostatic diseases and disorders.

ENG 101, BIO 103 or 201, MTH 100 or higher, CHM 104 or higher with a grade of āCā or better.
