This course is designed to instruct students in handling emergencies in the medical office. Emergencies presented will include cardiovascular emergencies, diabetic emergencies, seizures, syncope, hyperthermia and hypothermia, shock, musculoskeletal emergencies, and poisoning. Upon completion, students should be able to recognize emergency situations and take appropriate actions. This is a CORE course for Medical Assisting.

Prerequisites

MAT 101 with a grade of ā€œCā€ or better. All developmental coursework complete
