This course emphasizes the fundamental principles of air conditioning and refrigeration. Instruction is provided on the theory and principles of refrigeration and heat transfer, HVAC/R system components, standard and specialty tools for HVAC/R, and the application of the concepts of essential compression refrigeration. Upon completion, students should be able to identify system components and understand their functions, identify and use common and specialty HVAC/R tools, and maintain basic components of compression refrigeration systems. This is a CORE course.
